SEW Hip! Mystery Quilt – Red Oak Leaf is ready for presentation…
That’s right!
I have made the first block from the
SEW Hip! Mystery Quilt
and I am liking it.
It was so easy to make.
The Red Oak Leaf quilt block is made up of three
16.5″ x 6″ rectangles and a leaf.
Now how easy is that?
VERY!
Especially
if you have a sewing machine that lets you do
free- motion sewing.
I don’t, but that didn’t stop me from having a go.
You might think
not having Fusible Web (as per the pattern)
to attach the leaf to the quilt square might stop me in my tracks…
but it didn’t.
Hurrah!!
(for iron- on interfacing & pins)
Anyhoo,
one SEW Hip! quilt block down, another 8 to go…
Bring It!
(p.s I couldn’t find any oak leaves, I hope you like the ones I did?)

Very impressed, and love the leaves and this time of year.
How do you have the patience?
My curtains are almost done. Just 3 more panels to go…
I received my stamps to make the black fabric more fun but don’t think I’m going to use them because I will end up making the curtains look (3 year old child) homemade.
Your version is lovely. Quite autumnal in tone – really nice. I look forward to seeing the rest of the blocks. How many are there in the quilt?
Heidi, that’s really lovely – I wouldn’t have a clue where to start with something like that!
One up on me then Heidi!!!! I thought the pattern was in this month’s book but when I found last month’s book in the caravan while we had a little break away, there it was!!! So no excuses now! Great work! Will have to get busy.
Thank you all for your kinds words!
xxh
