SEW Hip! Mystery Block 2 (issue 29) – Abstract Winter Leaf…
Block 2 of the SEW Hip Mystery Quilt is finished and is
way better than I thought it would be.
When I was hand stitching on the leaves & circles
I actually believed that this block would be the death of my quilting ambitions,
but I am actually liking the higgledy mess;
I really should learn to trust my creative instincts
and my imagination.
Leaves?
How about acorns instead?
Look how similar they look to the gorgeous
acorns & hats
I found the other day.
They do too look like acorns!
If you squint.
SEE?!
They coud be acorns & hats, right?
What do you think?

Beautiful hand stitching, so evenly spaced.
Thank you Sharon,
Strange but true, it’s actually easier for me to stich my hand than it is to try and do the Satin stitch on my machine.

Hi Heidi, Wow – this is just beautiful. I love the colors – especially the orange – really lovely!
There’s something about hand-stitching that’s so much more special. Folksy and exquisite at the same time. Wouldn’t be at all the same if you did this on your machine. So so so lovely, Heidi! It’s always a pleasure to see what you’re up to, especially when I’ve been away for a while…xJosie
