Tutorial: Paper Angels
Template adapted from
‘Julepynt med Saks of Papir’
Materials
- Coloured card
- Cereal Box
- Newsprint or tissue paper
- Glue
- Scissors
- Thread
Trove – has a wonderful online collection of Newspapers & Magazines from 1930’s – 1990’s to download and print off for a vintage feel.
Paper Angel Preparation
Step 1:
Print off template:
cut the pieces & glue onto the back of a
cereal box.
(there are 4 separate pieces on the template)
Step 2:
Using your templates
draw your Angel body onto your coloured card &
Angel Face, Dress & Wings onto Newsprint or tissue paper
N.B
Each Paper Angel consists of
2 x Angel Body
2 x Angel Face
2 X Angel Dress
1 x Angel Wings
Step 3:
Cut out out your Angel pieces
ready for assembly
Assembling your Paper Angel
Step 1:
Place your 2 x Angel Body side by side.
Glue the 1 x Angel Face &
1 x Angel Dress
to the front of each Angel Body.
Leave to Dry.
Step 2:
Take your 2 x Angel Body
& flip them over to the wrong side.
Glue the length of the
Angel Body
Step 3:
Gently pinch the center of the Angel Wings being
careful not to create a crease along
the length of the wings.
Step 4:
Gently sandwich
the wings between the two Angel Body cut-outs.
Leave to dry.
N.B
I placed a small stone
over the central Angel Wing part
to keep the two Angel Body
parts together.
Step 4:
Punch a hole in the Angel Body (head)&
thread some string through
and
Hang for all to see!
